This DC investigator is one of fiction’s most recognised superheroes, whether he is known as The Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, or Batman. With the role of wealthy Bruce Wayne by day and vigilante by night, Batman has little time to sleep. Crime never sleeps, so why should he?

Batman Arkham Asylum
Prior to Arkham Asylum, Rocksteady Studios had only released one full game, the underrated but nonetheless unspectacular PS2 FPS Urban Chaos: Riot Response, therefore there were no high expectations placed on Batman’s shoulders.
It’s always wonderful to be proven wrong.
This action adventure title, with one of the best and most imitated fighting systems to have arisen in the last few decades, made you feel like Batman right from the start.
The great mechanics and ambiance nailed the sense of Batman. From environment scanning for clues to the plethora of progressively opening gadgetry at your disposal and the cleverly reinvented super villains to take on within the walls (and grounds) of the titular Asylum.
It offered us a fantastic picture of the true comic book-style Batman – in my opinion. Better than anything else up to that point, except probably Batman: The Animated Series. Not by chance, Batman: Arkham Asylum features the creative and voice talent of the legendary 90s TV program.
The boss fights can be a letdown. But they are varied and feature showdowns with some of Batman’s most renowned villains in a way that feels appropriate to the game’s plot.
It’s an easy decision for the top slot in our list of the best Batman games!
Batman Arkham City
There’s a lot of discussion regarding which Batman game is the best, and it usually comes down to Asylum versus Arkham City. And it’s a difficult decision because both are excellent.
Arkham City is our second choice, but it’s still a game that needs to be praised. It has a wide-open environment where you can freely wander to complete side missions, find trinkets, and enjoy the unique sights and sounds of Gotham.
Many of the elements from the original installment were built upon in Arkham City while paying tribute to the character’s extensive history over the years.
It’s simple to see why so many people love Batman: Arkham City, and while it’s not our top pick, it’s a great experience from beginning to end.
Batman Arkham Night
In Batman: Arkham City, the Arkham games went open world for the first time. With a storyline twist that walled off a whole area of Gotham City and filled it with criminals and supervillains.
The clever, Escape from New York-style setup provided Rocksteady with an excuse to see Batman. Roving over what is essentially an entire city without having to worry about pesky civilians getting in the way of the relentless violence.
And also allowed them to cleverly fill the world with plenty of missions and threads that lead to brilliantly reimagined supervillains.
Batman’s rogue’s gallery is possibly the most powerful bunch of villains in any comic book, and a large number of them are depicted here.
Overall, The vast world makes Arkham City feel less focused than Arkham Asylum. But it does provide the player with more freedom.
Arkham City is elevated by Batman’s gadgets, crunchy fighting, and some genuinely fantastic, cinematic sequences. It has a level of craftsmanship in its build that makes it one of the most satisfying open-world games of all time.

Batman: The enemy Within
Batman: The Enemy Within is a point-and-click game in which you must make several decisions that will eventually determine how the tale unfolds and ends. You will control Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego Batman in the game.
The gameplay is primarily conversational. With you examining murder scenes throughout the city and taking part in various events throughout the game.
The talks will virtually all come to an end with you having to choose the outcome that will determine how the game progresses.
Your decisions will have an impact on other characters in the game. You can attempt to be a hero who saves everyone. You can walk down the path of total darkness, killing everything in your way.
But no matter what outcome you choose, it always feels like someone is dissatisfied with it.
The Enemy Within offers an immensely captivating plot in which you must make difficult decisions in order to rescue the day.
Overall, As the story progresses. You’ll quickly discover everyone’s true motivations, as foes become friends and people you thought were friends begin to betray you. If you enjoy games with a compelling narrative, this game may be able to quench your hunger for a time.
Batman Arkham Origins: Black Gate
You may not recall this spin-off, which is probably for the best. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate brought the caped crusader and his daring exploits to the small screen. Specifically the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
It’s a 2.5D side-scrolling game that continues up right where Arkham Origins left off. With Batman dealing with an explosion at Blackgate prison that lets the Joker, Penguin, and Black Mask run wild.
While the plot is rambling and ultimately worthless, it did have several ambitious ideas. Such as attempting to transfer as much of the console experience to portable devices as possible. With stealth gaming, grappling, and even explosive gel cutting.
The imaginative use of the camera – zooming in at certain flashpoints and courting gliding. As well as putting Batman in the physical crosshairs as part of the Deadshot fight – must also be commended.
The game was subsequently converted to consoles and PC, and while it looks considerably better than its handheld predecessor. Overall, A fresh coat of paint can’t make up for the bad design on the inside.
Batman The Telltale series
Telltale Games had developed their choice-and-consequence narrative adventure game concept, which they had mastered with The Walking Dead in 2011, to offer some incredibly spectacular experiences by 2016.
Batman: The Telltale Series was no exception, offering a beautifully engaging plot that felt truly personal depending on the speech choices made throughout.
The episodic structure gave the impression that you were watching episodes of a TV show.
If you’d been playing the game since its inception, you’d have had to wait for each episode to be released before continuing the tale beyond each cliffhanger!
It also incorporated themes of putting together and integrating evidence at crime scenes, thus bringing Batman’s detective abilities to the forefront.
Batman Arkham VR
Batman: Arkham VR is the only game on this list that completely immerses you in the role of the Dark Knight. Arkham VR is a short experience that takes place in the Arkham realm and sends you on a mission to investigate the disappearance of Nightwing and Robin.
It does not feature direct combat, instead focusing on storyline and puzzle-solving while immersing you in its environment.
Because of the way it’s presented while making you feel like Batman, Arkham VR is one of the top PSVR experiences.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
After Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman was Traveller’s Tales’ first game with an original tale.
Despite the fact that its tactics and more linear structure feel a touch old these days. The first Lego title to make it to the best Batman games list!
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes was also a trailblazer in the Traveller’s Tales Lego series, being the first to have an open world and even spoken dialogue.
Lego Batman 2 is an addicting, intriguing, and family friendly game that gamers of all ages can enjoy, with an amazing story, loads of collectibles, and plenty of secrets to discover.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
Though Lego Batman 2 stretched the scope of the original game into an open world, Lego Batman 3. Beyond Gotham expands much further, featuring many hubs and open world stages in addition to more linear and concentrated missions.
More than 200 characters are available, though most must be located or otherwise unlocked before they may be used.
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham features a wonderful plot and tremendous scope. And the same addictive Lego action-adventure gameplay that Traveller’s Tales has become known for. For since the publication of the first Lego Star Wars game in 2005.
